Default Flash: Yay or Nay -- Q&A Thread

For those of you who have read Greg P's and my blog post about deciding to use Flash on your website, here is the forum area to ask questions about Flash!

Ask anything you ever wanted to know about Flash, it's advantages, how to get started, troubleshooting, etc.

And if you haven't read it yet...go read it, then come back and ask a question

Default ok..what would happen?

what would happen if you have certain parts of your site in Flash, and someone is accessing your site and does not have Flash installed. will they get an error in that area or a pop up box directing them to do an install?

I think it will prompt you to install Flash and take users to Adobe site.

Sunil is correct, it will say that Flash is required to view the content and take users to Adobe's site to install a Flash plugin (it should do this in a new window). If a user blocks Flash or doesn't/cannot install the plugin, the area will be empty unless you specify alternate content.
