Feature this extensive can't be judged in a day or two but research have shown that a feature like this could decrease upto 20% of cart abandonment and allow user to add more products because of seamless integration with the store. This feature specifically targets conversion and cart abandonment issues by providing a better way to use cart.

I also have mini cart operating on my store, (blaircandy)
I feel this is way to new for any true results of any kind yet. Mine has been running live for 5 days. I have received a few emails regarding this, 90% stating they love it; super cool, but I had two people email saying they felt my "pictures" showing on mine begins to clog up their screen after they placed 4 items in their cart.. So I looked at Naturepavilion and Ice wraps who also have this feature live. I noticed all 3 of us were showing different options. (I’m sure that's just what SC had planned because it is customizable to your preference) Ice Wraps does not show any shipping choices or pictures, and Naturepavilion has the shipping but no pictures... mine shows all three, so if any of you are considering it, Might be best to look at all three different setups. Thanks Pam |

Pam you brought up a good point, this feature is heavily customizable and our intent for beta program was to show all the available options, so when you discuss with your EC specify waht you would like to see.

Is the minicart running live on any other sites now besides BlairCandy, IceWraps and Naturepavilion?

Hello,
First I want to say I LOVE the idea of this MiniCart and think you really got a great thing going. I'd love to know if it's a little bit more customizeable with some things that I think should be implemented. First I'll tell you why I'm inquiring about these things - it's because the standard cart page for many commerce stores is many times used as a re-enforcement page and builds more trust for the customer. I don't think upsells are needed but I would like to know about these. 1) The first time I tried the cart it took me longer than it should have to find the "hide cart" with small "X" button. (my opinion) Customers are just so used to the 99% of carts that have either a text link or button that says either "keep shopping" or similar. My request would be a "Keep shopping" button on the bottom left of that flyout - below the items in the Minicart and that button would do the same function as the "hide cart". It just keeps more in the theme of a standard cart. 2) I think the shipping calculator is great - as it usually is one of the first things many customer look for after adding something to their cart (they want to know how much shipping is). I'd love to be able to add more text links (also on bottom of minicart) like I do on my full cart -- text links such as "FAQs", "Our Guarantee", "Shipping Questions", "Secure Ordering", "Privacy Policy", etc... aslo include 800 number, and then I'd even love to be able to show off a few of those icons whether it be a bizrate customer certified logo or a BBB Online logo etc. This is part of that re-enforcement I was speaking of (but maybe the icons are harder to implement than the text links). 3) I don't think the update button needs to be seen at all until someone changes qty - for some reason it just bothers me being grayed out (I keep trying to click on it - lol). But it's no big deal. 4) I'd also love to see a text link within the minicart that takes you to the full cart (just in case some people want to see the full cart). Anyway, I'd love to konw your thoughts. Michael |

Hello Michael
You have brought some interesting points and we will review it and see if it should be added for future release as of now here is what I think you can do for some of your concerns. Adding a keep shopping button that just closes the window should be customizable, it's not in current module but definitely doable with some amount of customization, I was incorrect this will require some significant changes to make it work or keep shopping will link back to same page refreshing the page so it is doable but not as easily as I thought it would be, infact everything is doable but that will require significant code change and a well thought out plan. In regards to links and logos in MiniCart here is what I have to say, you are always on site pages so it might be a good idea to work with a designer to get some of those reassurance links and icons strategically placed around the mini cart area so in a way you are always seeing it on the page but somehow still looks attached to cart. We have avoided it because the MiniCart area is too small for additional links and other images particularly with couple of products in cart MiniCart will look cluttered. You can add this links, images & icons on shipping and billing page where you can add confidence and assurance to those who made a decision to purchase. Update button can be customized to be hidden and all you have to do is let us know that’s what you wish to do. If you wish to see a text link to actual cart that could be again easily done by just adding a link but would be better if designer could place it a proper place so that the link doesn't confuse your customers with MiniCart link. In short the goals you wish to achieve can be done but it’s better to get it redesigned properly to make it work and might not be part of MiniCart but end result could be same.
