I just set up an Amazon Webstore, and I am mulling over a new design. However, before I do that, I am using an Amazon Template. When I add swatch colors, the width of the page expands, and you have to scroll left/right, when using IE7. However, with Firefox, it looks fine.
How do fix this? here's a link: Achievement - Skier, Motivational Poster | Motivational Art Prints Thanks, Mike |

Hey Mike,
Amazon uses a table layout, which IE will stretch to accommodate page elements, but in Firefox it will move the elements it to the next line. Here's a way to fix this issue in IE: if those swatches are in a widget, add a line break (HTML br tag) between the fourth and fifth span tags that contain a swatch. If they're not in a widget, let me know how it is laid out in the editor, and we'll try something else.

Here is another better way to do it. The span element you have is getting the style white-space: nowrap; which is causing the issue. You can remove the style from span and it will start to wrap.

I don't believe they are in a widget. I uploaded the swatches/products with a text file. I went to Template MGR, clicked on product, and do not see a place to enter a line break for the area that contains the swatches. There are editable widgets on the page, just not there.
Thanks so much! |

You have it declared inline for the spans in Color area. How are you populating the colors? Using HTML or is it dynamic? If it's dynamic then you can use CSS to override the style for the span.

Sorry, it's over my head. I am only using a template that Amzon has.

Do we have access to CSS with Amazon Webstores?

At this time, you have to create your own CSS and target those span tags, which is going to be very difficult. Would you mind taking a screen shot of where you add these color swatches in the Template Manager and posting it? We'll try to find a better solution for you.
