I use quite a few "social networks" - Face book, Writer's Cafe, Gather.com. I don't like myspace, too "teenybopper" and most of the time I get junk not related to business. I also developed a couple of forums myself for socializing and authors to promote their books. (I'm an author if you haven't guessed

MySpace can be quite immature in nature; I would imagine that you would need to be targeting a particular audience to get a targeted return. You may want to also set yourself up a LinkedIn profile, which could help you connect to others in the field, as well as prospective customers.
Also, try "digging" the most impressive or outrageous content on your site on the social news website Digg.com. I've gotten a few pages on my personal website dugg and my pageviews went from 200 hits per day to well over 200000 hits per day. It's a great way to draw in customers to fun and exciting products.

That's great, thanks for the tip, Matt. I'll have to set these sites up on my other links, you can never "socialize" too much.
