I've noticed over the past 3 months that our home page is receiving a hit from keywordspy dot com pretty much once per day. Would it be safe to assume that a competitor or other interested party is subscribing to that service and wQQtching us?? Comments?
Thanks Gary |

Hi Gary,
It seems like a competitor is researching your site to see what keywords you are targeting. Is this a huge problem, and is it really spying? It's tough to say. Anybody interested in this information can get it pretty simply by looking at your Web site's source code or even by simply reading the content on your site and charting word density. Sites like KeywordSpy and SpyFu are just a tool that saves time on that process. So yes, someone is aggregating data on your Web site, but the good news is that there isn't anything they can do with that data to sabotage you or your site. If they use that data wisely, and have talented marketers, they can certainly try to compete with you for rankings, but that's going to be an uphill climb for them and if you have the better site from a technical and user-experience side of things, their hill is going to be very steep.
