Default We'd love feedback for Crescentharbor.com

We are nearing the completion of our new ecommerce website Crescent Harbor Lighting-Chandeliers, Floor & Table Lamps, Bath Sconces, Outdoor Light Fixtures and we would love any feedback the folks out there might have to offer. We have worked with Solida Cactus over the past 9 months and are so excited to get the site rolling. We sell high quality lighting fixtures with a focus on the New England styles.

So far we've seen a total of 6 orders in the past 2 months, so we're hoping that as we work with the SEO folks at Solid Cactus we will begin to see some real momentum.

Again, any and all feedback are welcome.
Thanks!

Your site is beautifully done, easily navigable and very professional looking.

The only thing I can think that would make it better at this very moment would be product reviews on item pages and rotating customer testimonials on the bottom of the left navigation...

And, possibly... one of our newest features, available tomorrow.

Hi Beth,

I think your site looks great - clean and clear. However, if you are offering free shipping and a 110% price guarantee, I would emphasize that more boldly. I see it in your intro paragraph and on your customer service page. But it is very understated. And as we know, customers don't always read descriptions - especially the customer service pages - unless they want to be sure they can return something. I think you can say it "louder" and still be tasteful.

Hi Barry -

We actually have that exact information coming in the next few days. The folks at Solid Cacuts have created graphics which will display in the left nav of every page touting Free Shipping, Price Guarantee, and Easy Returns. They will be adding them to the site any day now.

Hi There Barry,

The site looks great, and I really think you'll start to get conversions once you can increase your traffic to the site... One thing that you really need to do if you haven't done so is to enable "google webmaster tools". It isnt the easiest thing to do, and if you cant figure it out, I'm sure we could help you. In the back of the Yahoo Store Manager, there will be a link from your store manager in the lower left side that says search engines. You want to enable google sitemaps, and follow the directions...

This is the link for google webmaster tools
https://www.google.com/accounts/Serv...overview&hl=en

In addition to that, you should also consider buying a few directory listings. Your organic traffic will take awhile to increase (and once this forum is around awhile, things like having your store URL in your signature will even help)...

This is a directory link where I think the promo code still works...
Best of the Web - Online Directory

and another one you may want to try is free, it was once known as the DMOZ...
Google Directory

and the Yahoo Directory
Yahoo! Directory

The search engines normally take the approach that if you are paying for a link in a web directory, your site must be decent, or you wouldn't pay a directory for a listing.

Site looks great, Couple of suggestions that might help you.

You have paging and and you currently show 12 product per page, bump it up to 16 because there is already a scroll involved to see your products in bottom row so a little bit more will not hurt but should help by decreasing the number of pages that customers have to click.

Add Shipping Calculator on your cart page, this can be easily done through your checkout manager

Start accepting PayPal payments because people would prefer buying through PayPal if site is new or they still are not comfortable trusting the site

Add brief title to your enlarged images, You are using our click to enlarge and this feature is built-in, for e.g. On this product page it would be nice to see a title for your inset images

Your checkout inputs and buttons on shipping and billing page should be left aligned, currently its centered

Default Links to your site

I am actually really jealous. Your site looks wonderful. It really inspires trust.

I would say the one thing to look at that some other folks have already hit on is getting more traffic to your site. I would say starting to get one way links from other sites will be a big help to you with regards to both your SEO and direct traffic.
